Last weekend I took Megan on a surprise trip to New York to see all the holiday craziness. Leading up to the trip, all I told her was to get two days off from work and let me plan the rest. Honestly, I'm shocked at how well it turned out.
Rather than try to recount it all. I'm just posting the whole stream of our tweets and flickr posts, with minimal commentary. There's a couple of non-trip related tweets in there, but I left them in so I could include the entire stream. Hopefully you can kinda get the idea of how it all went down.
Wednesday
FINALLY about to giving Megan her anniversary present (from sept). Amazed that I've been able to keep it a surprise for so long.
Robby has kidnapped me. Secret vacation date has begun. I'm in a cab, going to the airport. That's all i know.
I'm at the airport. Also, robby has a muppet movie on vhs in his bag. That's all i know.
I'm going to new york! I'm going to new york! New york at christmas!!!!!! I have the best boyfriend ever.
Thursday
Watching ice skating in central park.
at the central park zoo. Trying to get the sea lions to pose for a picture.
Scrappy the penguin is allergic to bones.
Pignose turtles are real and they're amazing.
after 30 hrs with no sleep, just about everything in the toys r us store in Times Square REALLY starts to freak me out.
frites! with pomegranate teriaki sauce! Yum!

In new jersey, getting a tour from robby and carrie. I can't wait to see a dude with spiked hair, lip gloss, and orange fake tan.

Welcome to north new jersey, embroidery capitol of the world since 1872.
We just spent 75 bucks on candy at Dylan's Candy Bar. Wow.
Just had amazing gnocci at an adorable italian place called bello giardino. Now heading to rockafeller center for christmas extravaganza!
It's snowing in new york, while we're at the rockefeller christmas tree. Robby's magic, he made it snow.
at Rockefeller Center, in the snow. Tons of people are ice skating, people are proposing to their girlfriends. This rules.
@bmsteinbacher no ice skating tonight, it was too packed! Also, i don't want to fall on my ass in public.
Waiting for a bus back to NJ. It's cold and kinda smells. Plus, I think we were supposed to be there an hour ago. Oops. Worth it.
Chances are, if you're wearing a shirt that says "future trophy wife", you're wrong about that.
Back in jersey, watching a band that doesn't suck cover the ramones.

On a train, leaving jersery and heading back into the city before going home. Stupid home. I don't wanna go!

aw damn! 3 hr wait at serendipity, romantic last-day-in-nyc date is now getting huge slices at a dingy pizza place.
Little italy is amazing and beautiful this time of year.
